Three killed in fiery crash on Alabama Highway 5

Three people were killed in a fiery crash Friday when a car collided with a tractor-trailer between Safford and Alberta.
According to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the wreck happened on Alabama Highway 5 two miles east of Albert around 11:25 a.m.
Alabama State Troopers identified the three people killed in the wreck as 24-year-old Lyric Hardy of Safford, 36-year-old Theodore Hardy of Alberta and 58-year-old Robert Samuel Dunkin of Centerville.
According to ALEA, Lyric and Theodore Hardy were killed when the Honda Accord Lyric was driving collided with a tractor-trailer that was driven by Dunkin. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, one of the vehicles caught fire, but it was unclear which one.
According to Alabama State Trooper Reginal King, the crash is still under investigation. No more details have been released, and it is unclear what caused the wreck.
