The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department found the body of Lannie’s Bar-B-Q restaurant number 2 on Friday morning.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, the DCSO and Fire and Rescue Squad found the body of Earl B. Travis in a pond near Valley Grande.
“He had gone fishing and the boat had overturned,” Jackson said. “From preliminary reports, it looks like an accident.”
Jackson said that Travis’ body is being sent to Alabama Department of Forensics where an autopsy will be performed.
Travis opened Lannie’s Bar-B-Q in 1992., where it became popular and eventually won the title of Best Barbecue Restaurant in Alabama in 2016.
