Wedding: Russell and Osborn

Mrs. James Lane Osborn

Dorothy Rayne Russell and James Lane Osborn joined in the covenant of marriage May 23, 2009. The ceremony took place on the lawn of the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama at 6:30 p.m. Reverend Clayton King Speed officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald MacDonald Russell Jr. of Selma and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lamar Crawford of Marion and Mrs. David Boykin Patton and the late Dr. Donald MacDonald Russell of Selma.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Charles Osborn of Moulton and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Coasie Lane and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Albert Osborn, all of Russellville.
Given in marriage by her father, Rayne wore an ivory silk voile organza gown by Rivini. The bride wore her dear friend Caroline Kirkpatrick Bobo’s chapel length veil of ivory illusion lace. Molly Catherine Remmert blessed her as maid of honor. Her sister Jana Russell Garner and her sister-in-law Lacey Rader Russell were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Caroline Kirkpatrick Bobo, Margaret Tillman Boyd, Shannon Miller Cook, Maggie Wood Lewis, Mary Russell Miller, Allison McDonald Murfee, and Abbie Elliott Tucker.
James’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Michael David Osborn and John Hayes Carroll, John Randall Millington, Jr., Donald MacDonald Russell III, Patrick Alan Seay, Christopher John Thrash, and William Nicholas Turner.
Samuel Paul Garner and Jacqueline Fairchild Garner were ring bearer and flower girl. Hardy Aloysious Demeranville IV served as crucifer. Betsy Lynne McCulloch read scripture. Music was provided by Michael David Osborn, brother of the groom, William Paul Garner, brother-in-law of the bride, Alyse Wood Chambers, vocalist and Bradley Threadgill, trumpeter. Program attendants were Ann Marie Russell, Margaret Macon Steinberg, and Joan Elon Zora all cousins of the bride. Kate Adams McKnight directed the wedding. Anna Gilmore designed the florals and photography was done by Shea Haliburton.
The reception was held in the Grand Ballroom with dinner and dancing. The music was provided by the band Musical Fantasy.
The couple honeymooned at Cap Juluca, Anguilla. They now reside in Birmingham, Alabama where she is practicing dentistry with Christ Heath Center in Woodlawn and he is in the Pediatric Dental Residency program at the University Of Alabama Birmingham School Of Dentistry.
