Wedding: Morrow and Cauley
Casey Genese Morrow and Nathan William Cauley were united in marriage on Aug. 23, 2008, at Jasper First Baptist Church, Jasper, Ala.
The Rev. Chad Hayes performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Donald Edward Morrow of Jasper.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Earl Cauley of Selma.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory matte satin designed by Madeline Gardner, the strapless form-fitting had hand-beaded appliqués outlined with silver threads under the bustline and at the dropped hipline. The back of the gown had covered buttons and an attached semi-cathedral length train.
She carried a bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, soft green hydrangeas and cream roses.
Also attending were Lela Snead, cousin of the bride, Columbus, Ga.; Anna McKee, cousin of the bride, Montgomery; Amanda Robison, cousin of the bride, Montgomery; Ashley Bryant, college roommate, Opelika; Stefanie Long Monnroeville, roommate; Molly Martin, college roommate, Wetumpka; Leigh Murphy, college roommate, Montgomery; Jennifer Oravett, childhood friend/college roommate, Montgomery; Erica Vance, childhood friend, Jasper; and Ashley Watkins, college roommate, Wetumpka.
They wore gowns of chocolate brown chiffon with vertical shirring overlays on the empire bodice of the flared a-line dress. They carried bouquets of purple stock, tiny green hydrangeas, orange roses, white tulips, Tropicana snapdragons and green Kermiti mums.
Morgan Camille Snead served as flower girl. Henry Seawell McKee served as ring bearer.
Groomsmen-ushers were William Cauley, father of the groom, Selma; Christopher Castle, cousin of the groom, Houston, Texas; Jim Harpole, college friend, Columbus, Miss.; Gabe Kelley, childhood friend, Selma; Brian King, childhood friend, Selma; Josh Morrow, brother of the bride, Jasper; Blake Morrow, brother of the bride, Jasper; Allen Oakes, childhood friend, Selma; Brandon Roberts, childhood friend/college roommate, Selma; Brad Young, college roommate, Seneca, S.C.; and Reid Zuelzke, childhood friend/college roommate, Selma.
Wedding music was provided by Stefanie Long (bridesmaid), vocalist; Jeanette Sherer, organist; and Carol Patilla, pianist.
The church was decorated with a large cream urn in the center of the stage with a mixed arrangement of green bells of Ireland, green hydrangeas, purple stock, orange rose, white lackspur, Tropicana snapdragons, white Asiatic lilies, white French tulips and bright green Kermiti mums.
Four pew markers (for family) and an arrangement for the guest book table had the same mixed flowers as in the urn.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper.
Attending the bride’s book were Desiree and Dakota Morrow.
Following a trip to St. Lucia, the couple makes their home in Homewood, Ala.
Engagement: Duke and Raybon
Mr. and Mrs. James A. Duke Jr. of Selma announce the engagement of their daughter, Wendy Leigh Duke to Mr. Albert Joseph Raybon.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Sherry (Mr. Johnny) Raybon of Selma, Ala. and Mr. Albert (Mrs. Tammy) Poe of St. Johns, Ariz.
Miss Wendy Leigh Duke is the granddaughter of Mrs. Verna Wells and the late Mr. Henry Wells of Mobile, Ala. and the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Duke Sr. of Selma. She is a 2003 graduate of Dallas County High School. She attended Concordia College Selma where she received a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She is currently working toward a Master’s in Special Education at The University of West Alabama. she is presently employed as a special education teacher in Orrville.
Mr. Albert Joseph Raybon is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Gibson of Marion Junction, Ala., Mrs. Charlotte Perry and the late Mr. Donald Hugh Perry of Selma, Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Morales of St. Johns, Mr. and Mrs. Boone Hall of Springerville, Ariz. And Mrs. Elizabeth Raybon of Pensacola, Fla. He is a 2005 graduate of Central Christian Academy.
He attended Wallace Community College, where he received a license for cosmetology, he is presently employed at the Jameson Inn Hotel and El Ranchero’s.
The wedding will take place July 25, 2009, at 5 p.m. at the Vaughan Smitherman building in Selma.
