Ben Rives and Katie Carter

Mr. Herbert E. Carter Jr. of Browns, Ala. and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry D. Victor of Selma, Ala. are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Carter, to Ben Rives of Pleasant Hill, Ala.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Benson Rives of Pleasant Hill, grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Dunklin Rives of Pleasant Hill, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee Swindle of Marion Junction, Ala.
Miss Carter is the granddaughter of Mrs. Beverly Rives of Birmingham, Ala.; Mr. Larry D. Striplin Jr. of Selma, Mrs. Jeane Carter of Browns, Ala., and the late Mr. Herbert E. Carter Sr. of Browns.
She is a graduate of Central Christian Academy. She is also a graduate of Wallace Community College Selma of Nursing, RN program.
Ben is a graduate of Lowndes Academy and is currently employed at Hyundai.
The wedding will take place August 14, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at the Marion Junction United Methodist Church in Marion Junction, Ala. Reception is on August 15, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Southern Sportsman’s Lodge in Lowndes County.

Engagement: Murray and Williams

LaTonua Shanetta Murray and Ronnie Jerald Williams

Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Carolyn Murray Laister of Selma proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, LaTonua Shanetta Murray, to Ronnie Jerald Williams.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee and Jannie Williams.
Ms. Murray is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sr. and Thelma Murray of Orrville. She is a 1993 graduate of Keith High School.
He is a 1991 graduate of Selma High School. He is currently employed with Dixie Pellets of Selma.
The wedding will take place at 5 p.m., June 27, 2009 at Christian Light Baptist Church, Safford, Ala.

Engagement: Summerlin and Lovinggood

Kristina Diane Summerlin and Irvin Whitmire Lovinggood

Mr. William David Summerlin and Ms. Patty Summerlin of Selma announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristina Diane Summerlin, to Irvin Whitmire Lovinggood. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michael Lovinggood of Selma. Miss Summerlin is the granddaughter of Mr. Melvin Earnest Summerlin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Frances Summerlin and the late Mrs. Betty Weaver. She is a fourth year student at the University of Alabama School of Optometry at Birmingham. She will graduate in 2010 and will begin practicing in Selma. Her fiancé is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Lovinggood, Irvin Miller Chesnut Jr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Chesnut Bigger. He is a graduate of John Tyler Morgan Academy. He attended Troy State University of Montgomery and received a Bachelors in Business Management. He is presently the Manager of Operations/Outside Sales at the Central Alabama Farmers Coop. The Wedding will take place August 1, 2009, at Church Street United Methodist Church.
