Police nab robbery suspect
Published Tuesday, November 3, 2009
SELMA — People driving down Broad Street Monday evening might have seen some commotion in the 1700 block as police surrounded Ricky Bernard Richardson’s residence after he was believed the suspect in the robbery of TitleMax on 1016 Broad St.
Selma police received the call about 3:50 p.m.
“A clerk stated a black male entered the store and handed her a note. It demanded money and also said he had a gun. At that point she said she noticed a gun on him,” said Selma police detective Frederick Walker.
The clerk gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money. Then the woman called police and gave authorities a good physical description coupled with a description of the clothes he was wearing.
“Officers set up a secure perimeter in the area and began canvassing for a male matching the description,” Walker said. “Officer Curtis Muhannad located the suspect at his home and detained him.”
Authorities said the clerk from TitleMax identified Richardson, 44, as the man who robbed the store.
Police said they also have viewed surveillance tape and believe he is the same man who committed the crime.
Police questioned Richardson before charging him with robbery, first-degree. He was taken to the Dallas County Jail, where he is under a $100,000 bond.
Officers went back to Richardson’s residence were they found money believed to be stolen from TitleMax. Authorities don’t know how much money was taken in the heist, so they cannot tell if they recovered it all.

I heard from other people, that he is alittle on the loony side. I think something happen to him while serving in the Army. His mom passed away about 2months ago. I think he need to be admitted to a place for help.

In life, we make decisions, he made his... now he has to pay. Why not cry for the victims in this, not the criminal. our society has us programmed to "wonder why he(she) did it. Not here is your boat head on up "that" creek without a paddle. bon voyage!
