Betty Mae Rose
Betty Mae Rose, 75, of Selma / Dallas County, died Sunday, Mar. 3, 2002 at a Birmingham hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 9, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home with Koby Little officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include seven sons, Henderson Rose Jr. (Pearlie), Herbert Hardy (Kathy), Edward Hardy (Mamie), Frank Hardy (Jessica),Dennis Hardy, Preston Nelson (Ruby), William Nelson (Wydell); one daughter, Denice Henderson; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six daughters-9n-law; two sisters-in-law; six nephews; and five nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Williams and George Headley and a sister, Ida Wright.
Active pallbearers are Clinton Rose, Edward Hardy Jr., Frank Hardy Jr., Antoine Hardy, Darryl Henderson Jr., Preston Nelson Jr. and Raphael James.
Peggy Ann Beatty Levens
Peggy Ann Beatty Levens Age 71, of Mobile, formerly of Selma, died Sunday, Mar. 3, 2002.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, with burial in the Mausoleum chapel at Mobile Memorial Gardens with Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include five sons, Henry G. (Randy) Levens, III of Birmingham, Keith N. (Penny) Levens of Grand, David A. (Kara) Levens and Gregory N. (Joy) Levens of Mobile and William J. (Gina) Levens of Daphne; two brothers, Austin Travis Beatty of Birmingham and James Newton Beatty of Edgefield, S.C.; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Travis and Ora Walker Beatty, her husband, Henry G. Levens Jr. and her sister, Donna Beatty Strickland.
Active pallbearers are John Allbritten, David Ciaburri, David Hartery, Rick Merriweather, Kevin Raley and Mike Shirley.
Family visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Medical Center Mobile or Daphne.
Mrs. Levens was born December 17, 1930 a native of Pittsburg, Pa., She was a former resident of Selma, where she graduated from Parrish High School in 1949, and was a resident of Mobile, since 1972.
