Carrie Lee Callen
Carrie Lee Callen, 86, of Birmingham, formerly of Selma, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at a Birmingham hospital.
Services are Saturday, June 1, at the Chapel of J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Darryl Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include three nieces, Ann Callen-Southall of Selma, E. Faye Martinear of Buffalo, N.Y., and Jeanita Callen of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Mattie L. Callen of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces and a host of great-nephews and cousins; and caregiver, Carol Payne of Birmingham.
Ms. Callen was the last of eight children born to the late Saul and Lizzie Callen.
Arthur Lee Dunkin
Arthur Lee Dunkin, 94, of Marion, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at a Selma hospital.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Chapel of Kirk Funeral Homes in Marion, with the Rev. John Huelskoetter officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Memorial Gardens with Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion directing.
Survivors include one son, Robert Lee Dunkin and wife Carol of Marion; one daughter, Doris Dunkin Persons and husband Charles of Montgomery; one brother, Allen Dunkin and wife Mildred of Selma; one sister, Vera D. Moore of Tuscaloosa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Vida Lee Ham Dunkin.
Active pallbearers are Steven Moseley, Robert Dunkin, Lee Dunkin, Mike Mills, James Dunkin and Burnis Barton.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Dunkin was born on Aug. 25, 1907 in Sprott, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thomas Dunkin (Margaret Louisia Kinard).
Dorothy C. Garrett
Dorothy C. Garrett of Selma, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at her home.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Dr. John Fain officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two sons, B. Brandon Key (Debbie B.) and Robert C. Key (Brenda M.), both of Selma; one sister, Nell C. Logan (Graham A.) of Augusta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Austin Key (Laura) of Mobile, Ann Key of St. Thomas, USVI, Brian Key of Alabaster, Wendi Key of Boulder, Colo., Thomas Key and Ashley Key of Selma; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her husbands, Bester B. Key, Jr. and Fred Gwin Garrett.
Active pallbearers are Brian Key, Austin Key, Thomas Key, Graham Logan, Howard Burrill and Josh Henry.
Mrs. Garrett was a member of First Baptist Church of Selma and the Emblem Club.
Alexandra Reginald Lewis
Services for Alexandro Reginald Lewis, will be held at 12 noon Monday, June 3, 2002, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his mother, Anita Mitchell (Verdell); his father, Eddie Williams; one brother, Ulysses Lewis; two sisters, Victoria and Samantha Mitchell; one stepbrother, Jarvis Williams; one stepsister, Chelsea Williams; one daughter, D’Asia Lewis; one stepdaughter, Jazimere Hudson; a devoted and special friend, Carolyn Robinson; grandmothers, Ruth (Pearl) Thomas and Willie Lee Williams; step-grandmother, Mary Mitchell; two aunts, Jennifer McNeal and Theresa Harber; three uncles, Winston Lewis, Charles Lewis and William King; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Tyrone Mitchell.
Mr. Lewis was born on Aug. 6, 1979. He attended Selma High School.

Services are at 12 noon Friday, May 31, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. James Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home of Marion directing.
Bryan Scott Perry
Bryan Scott Perry, 25, of Montgomery, formerly of Autaugaville, died Friday, May 24, 2002 in Montgomery.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Calvary M.B. Church in Selma, with the Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Little Star Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his parents, Zedora Perry and Willie (Wilma) Perry; grandparents, Willie (Alberta) Perry Sr. and Arzie (Lucy) Davis; one daughter, Ebony N. Perry; great-grandmother, Cather Lee McCants; two brothers, Antonio (Nikki) Perry and Courtney Perry; a loving fiancee, Theresa DeRamus of Prattville; two sisters, Valerie Perry and Kimberly Perry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Fred E. Clayton, of Lowndes County, died Friday, May 24, 2002.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Beautiful Zion AME Church with the Rev. Mary I. Coleman and the Rev. Joseph Ellington III officiating. Burial will follow in the Sawyer Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; three daughters, Christeen (John) Sears of Rayham, Mass., Hattie Ann Clayton of Sandy Ridge, and Maxine (Daryl) Starks of Fairfield; two sons, Nathaniel (Jeri) Clayton of Kinnelon, N.J. and Bobby (Gloria) Clayton of Ft. Survivors include his loving mother, Wanda Maull of Selma and father Lawrence Maull of White Hall; two sisters, Shanetria and Sharmonique; two brothers, Marquis and Lawrence Jr. of Selma.

Willie Mae Taylor, 57, of Selma, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at a local hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at New Life Church, Tyler, with the Rev. Clarence Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Creek Church Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include one brother, McKinley Perkins of Detroit, Mich.; six sisters, Ruthie Motley (Marzett) of Selma, Louise Pettway of Birmingham, Lucy Williams, Lillie Tarver, Ruby Taylor all of Whitehall and Mary Taylor of Gordonville; one brother-in-law; and a host of nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.
Mary J. Lewis
Mary J. Lewis , of Vallejo, Calif., formerly of Orrville, died Monday, May 20, 2002 at her home in Vallejo,
Calif.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Providence Baptist Church, Orrville, with the Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, a host of great grand children, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Lewis, Jr. and son, Calvin Lewis, III, two daughters, Dorothy Mae Lewis and Deloris Jackson, 10 sisters and two brothers.
The body will lie in state at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, from 12 – 5 p.m. and from 12 – 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Providence Baptist Church, Orrville.
Mrs. Lewis, was a former member of Providence Baptist Church of Orrville, and member of St. Mark Baptist Church of Vallejo,
Calif.

Delia M. Jones, 69, of Demopolis, died Sunday, May 26, 2002 at a Demopolis hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Demopolis, with the Rev. F.D. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery, Demopolis with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, beginning at 12 noon.
