The Selma Cloverleafs returned baseball to Selma after an absence of 40 years with their opening day game on May 31. Soon after, they embarked on a tedious road trip that had them visiting five other ballparks. Now, the Leafs are set to return once again on Tuesday to a massive celebration.

Tuesday, June 25 has been designated “Reunion Night,” the first in a series of theme nights that are commemorating the return of the Leafs. That night, beginning at 5:45 p.m., a meet and greet of Cloverleaf alumni and current affiliates will be held. Various other guests will be honored for their association with Selma’s baseball tradition, and the first pitch will be tossed by Selma’s own Sen. Earl Goodwin and Jerry Fosnow.

Citing the reason for the celebration, Noopie Cosby of the Cloverleafs Management Group said, “When we first put the schedule together, we noticed that the beginning was a long road trip. It’s tough on them to travel city to city like that, so we had an idea to really support them and welcome them home.”

The management of the Leafs has designated Wednesday night “Church Night,” and have lowered admission to $5 for adults with a church program and $1 for children with a church program from that day’s church service. Thursday night is “Montgomery Night,” when the Leafs will finish up their three-game series with the Wings. Montgomery City Councilman Ben McNeil is scheduled to throw out the first pitch, and the purchase of one general admission tickets gets the buyer one of equal or lesser value free.

The Cloverleafs also introduced a new ticket package being sold by the newly-formed Leafettes, who are giving fans the opportunity to purchase ten admissions for $35.

The Leafs begin their series versus the Montgomery Wings at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
