A local day care owner accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl has been indicted by a Dallas County grand jury on two counts of child sex abuse.

James Anderson, 50, one of the owners of Miss Emma’s Daycare located on the Old Montgomery Highway, has been accused of inappropriately touching a minor and other acts that the police and district attorney are not able to discuss.

Anderson was arrested earlier this year following a lengthy investigation prompted by the minor’s parent, who reported the alleged misconduct to police officials.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Ed Greene, the charges involve two incidents, one of which occurred recently and the other that occurred at a much earlier date.

“The allegations are justified,” Greene said in May, after a judge found probable cause in Anderson’s preliminary hearing.

Anderson contends he is innocent. “I can only say this didn’t happen,” he said.

Following his arrest, local parents and concerned citizens protested outside the front of Miss Emma’s Daycare.

Anderson’s attorney, Billy Faile, said the charges are completely unfounded and that his client will be proven innocent after the case goes to trial.

According to court officials, the case has not been set for trial.
