George B. Dickinson
George B. Dickinson, 87, of Big Rapids, Mich., died Saturday, October 11, 2003, in Big Rapids.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 16, at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton, Mich., with Pastor Mark Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery in Fork Twp., Mich., with Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret of Big Rapids a daughter, Gail (Irby) Perrin of Selma; one brother Charles (Mable) Dickinson of Kingsley, Mich.; one sister, Velma (Maynard) Nicholson of Hastings, Mich.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James and Leonard Dickinson and a sister Margaret Workman.
Family visitation will be on Wednesday from, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Dickinson, born January 4, 1916 in Barryton, Mich., to Seldan and Cynthia (Roads) Dickinson. He married Margaret J. Evans December 30, 1944 in Elm Hall, Mich. Together they made their home in various places, including the Belding, Mich., area for 17 years. They had lived in Mecosta Co., Mich., the last 16 years. Throughout the years George and Margaret welcomed 11 foster children into their home to raise. George was a farmer and he had been employed by Detroit Gasket and Gibson’s in Belding, Mich.
Mr. Dickinson was a dedicated Christian man and a devout member of the Halls Corners Church.
