Got Bone?
That’s the question posed on the Smokin Bone website, belong to a Southern Rock group who performed at a party on New Year’s Eve in Selma.
With their first single, &uot;Stone Cold,&uot; currently in the top 50 most popular Southern Rock music at MP3. com, the group used Selma as the launch point for a new series of concerts.
The group, led by Chris C. Ryder on lead vocals and lead guitar, was originally based out of Nashville, but recently moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Their goal is to reenergize a genre of music that has, as Ryder puts it, nothing to do with politics.
The group is influenced by artists such as K.I.S.S. and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The band releases their music independently.
The band’s other claim to fame, according to their website, is that they have the only topless female bass player &uot;on the whole … planet.&uot;
That bass player, Stephanie Steele, was recently featured in Biker magazine, showing her in action.
The fourth member of the band is Kenny Bateman on lead guitar, mandolin and doboro.
Smokin’ Bone can currently be heard on WALX 100.7, said Jimmy Cole, who is the group’s manager.
