Herman Earl Hopkins, Sr.

Herman Earl Hopkins, Sr., 72, of Minter, AL passed away April 26, 2005, at his home.

Graveside Services will be Friday, April 30, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2005, from 12-1:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Quarles Hopkins; two sons, Robert Scott (Betsy) Hopkins of Newbern, AL and Herman E. (Jan) Hopkins, Jr. (Skip) of Deatsville, AL; one brother, James Lee

(Carol) Hopkins of SC and five grandchildren, Tyler Hopkins, Connor Hopkins, Zack Hill, Allen Bley, and Sallie Catherine Bley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Earl and Goodwin Tranham Hopkins, and a sister, Emma Sue Nelson of Huntsville, AL.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Stubbs, Chad Stubbs, Bobby Quarles, Ricky Rowell, Coldon Billingsley and David Primm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 200 Central Pkwy Place, Selma, AL

Thomas Arnold Pearson, Sr.

Thomas Arnold Pearson, Sr., age 81, of Valley Grande, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M Saturday, April 30, 2005, in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev Bob Ryan officiating.

Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Tanton Pearson, son, Thomas Arnold Pearson, Jr., grandchildren, Dana Cook, Kristy Grier, and Devin Pearson, great-grandchildren, Landon Cook, Jasmine and Kennedy Grier, brother, Milton A. (Katherine) Pearson, sister Louise A Pearson (H.C.) Vickers.

Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Sadie Pearson, daughter, Lynn Carol Pearson, brother, William Earnest Pearson, sisters, Mary Virginia, Sadie Olivia, Helen Inez, and Naomi Austin.

After graduation from Albert G Parrish High School Mr. Pearson volunteered for Military Service and served three years, 1942-1945 in Ordnance/Maintenance with 8th Air Force stationed at Deophan Green, England.

He returned from Military Duty, married Mary Frances Tanton, worked for a short time for Hooper Motor Co., then for Southland Mower Company where he retired as plant manager. Active Pallbearers will be Paul Champion, Jim Gabberd, Milton A Pearson, Jr., Carey Barnes, Mickey Cothran, Leon Reese.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Harlow, Cecil LaGrone, M.A Pearson, H.C Vickers, Jerry Elliott, Cecil Gardner, Mike Jenkins, and Mike Bailey.

The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday April 29.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cahaba Hospice.

Prov Lee Taylor

Prov Lee Taylor, 71, of Demopolis, Alabama, passed Thursday, April 21, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, a Friendship Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama, with the Rev. Henry Thompson is pastor and the Rev. Lester McKinley officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Gallion, Alabama, with Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama, entrusted with arrangements.
