James K. Woolley
James K. Woolley, of Selma, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at a local hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Lawrence Funeral Home.
Frances Clinton Tucker
Frances Clinton Tucker, 81, of Marion, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, in Marion.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at Heiberger Methodist Church with the Rev. Travis Barrel attending. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes directing.
She is survived by a daughter, Melba T. (Earl) Giddiens of Marion; sister Estie C. Tubbs of Helena; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes in Marion.
Ernestine Casey Garrett
Ernestine Casey Garrett, 77, of Carlowville, died Saturday, May 10, 2003.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at Carlowville Baptist Church in Carlowville with the Rev. Taylor Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Carlowville Baptist Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by her son, Glenn A. Garrett Jr.; grandson G. Allen Garrett III; granddaughter Julia Casey Garrett of Birmingham; sisters Lois Casey Harris of Tallassee and Nadya Casey Mathiews of Selma; brothers Ernest Lamar Casey of Hayneville, William Lamar Casey of Carlowville, Joseph Wheeler Casey of Selma and Jerry H. Casey of Montgomery.
Pallbearers will be nephews Bill Casey, Charles Casey, Scott Casey, Matthew Casey, Jack Callen and Ray Mathiews.
Mrs. Garrett was a member of Carlowville Baptist Church. She retired from the Dallas County Family Planning Clinic in 1988 after 10 years of service. She had previously retired as a civil service nurse at Craig Air Force Base in 1977 after 29 years. She recieved her RN nursing degree from the South Highlands Nursing School in Birmingham. She was a graduate of Carlowville High School.
She was preceded in death by parents Mamie Lois Casey and Ernest Lamar Casey Sr. and husband Glenn A. Garrett Sr.
Visitation will be Monday, May 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Frank Watson
Frank Watson, 88, of Selma, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Scooba, Miss., with the Rev. Leon Ballard officiating and Stephens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include wife Edna Lou Wall Watson of Selma; son Tommy (Miriam) Watson of Scooba, Miss.; daughters Martha W. (Charlie) Maurer of Selma and Sue W. (Jordon) Cooper of Mobile; six grandsons; one granddaughter and 10 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Mr. Watson was retired from farming and lived in Geiger until he and his wife moved to Selma two years ago.
