With Friday night’s win over Marion Military Institute, Central Christian coach John Niblett hit another milestone in his storied career.

Niblett, who has been in coaching for 35 years, racked up his 250th win as a head football coach.

Niblett coached eight years in public schools, but began working in private education in 1976. He’s been a head coach for 33 years.

He’s watched two of his children grow up and chose teaching and coaching as their profession.

He’s won four state championships and finished second in another.

The headmaster at CCA, Niblett has worn many hats.

His teams have a state basketball title, two baseball titles and a girls softball title as well.

But Niblett says the titles, wins and milestones are just icing on the cake.

Niblett begins work towards number 300 this week as CCA travels to Coosa Valley.

However, he says none of this would have been possible without the help of others.
