Even as the bang and clang of progress went on inside the 50,000 square foot building in the Craig Field Industrial Park, local politicians, members of TEAM Selma and executives of the Renosol Corporation joined forces to announce Renosol’s arrival in Dallas County.
The company, a supplier to Lear &045;a tier one supplier to Hyundai&045; will eventually bring 120 new jobs to the area.
Vardaman gave much of the credit to for today’s announcement to the members of TEAM Selma, a group of local leaders that joined forces in an effort to recruit industry.
Various members of TEAM Selma took turns at the podium, including Sanders who joked that he’d sponsored a filibuster just so he could leave the legislature and attend the announcement.
Sanders likened the process of attracting Renosol to putting together a puzzle, in which many people added a key piece.
Sanders thanked the other members of TEAM Selma and Renosol President Larry Adkisson.
Adkisson also thanked the TEAM Selma members.
Adkisson added that he expects the facility to be fully operational by fall.
The company manufactures molded polyurethane foam for the automotive industry.
Renosol’s flexible foam seating, armrest, headrest and console cushions are known throughout the industry.
The timetable for the project is expected to be consistent with the planned startup of the Hyundai plant in Hope Hill, which is scheduled for March, 2005.
Vardaman added that Renosol was phase one of a two phase project.
Other suppliers will be identified and details will be announced in the coming months.
In late summer 2003, the Selma and Dallas County Economic Development Authority and TEAM Selma announced that Lear, the world’s leading supplier of automotive interiors would be locating suppliers in the Craig Field Industrial Park.
