Infant Laya Reese, of Selma, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Bro. Tilton Hunter officiating and Walker Mortuary directing.
Survivors include parents, Semonia Southall and Reginald Reese; grandparents, Deborah Southall-Lowe, Najala Samuel Reese, Margaret Southall and Angrish Southall; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Wylna Dozier Giles
Wylna &8220;Bill&8221; Dozier Giles, 89, of Selma, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Friday, April 23, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Stone officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Thornton Giles and her six brothers and sisters.
Active pallbearers are Ed Dozier, Tom Green, David Abrams, J.V. Oakes, Archie Reeves and Brock Wells.
Family visitation will be from 12-12:45 on Friday.
Mrs. Giles was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church in Selma.
Sallie M. Williamson
Sallie M. Williamson, 54, of Orrville, died Monday, April 19, 2004, at a local hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. James Evans. Burial will follow in New Bethel Church Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include sons, Darryl (Donna) Allen Jr. and Jerome (Addie) Allen; five brothers, George (Edna) Draine, Sam Draine, John (Sadie) Draine, Lewis Drain Jr. and Robert Draine; 10 sisters, Adeline (Robert) Bettis, Lucy (Joe Lewis) Pritchett, Rosie (James) Evans, Dorothy (Solomon) Finkley, Ada Lake, Geraldine (Warren) Walker, Estella Liddell, Annie (Hank) White, Rosie Lee (Joe) Ellis and Ollie Thomas; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; special friends, Barbara Carson and Walter Jones.
Tom Allen
Tom Allen, 66, of Selma, died Sunday, April 19, 2004.
Services are at noon Saturday, April 24, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3240 Al Hwy 22, Selma, Rev. Anthony Austin, officiating Minister, Dr. C.A. Lett, pastor. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, East Selma, with Hillside Mortuary of Wetumpka directing.
Survivors includes a loving son, Rev. Anthony Jermaine Austin of Selma; a granddaughter, Alayiah S. Austin of Selma; a longtime Sweetheart, Ida L. Austin of Selma; two brothers, Theodore Cleveland and Edward Cleveland; and a sister, Lou Bertha (Nathan) Gamble, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of extended children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Marie Whaley McLaughlin
Marie Whaley McLaughlin, of Mobile, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at a Mobile hospital.
Family visitation will be on Friday, April 23, at 9 a.m. from Radney-Belmany Funeral Home on Grelot Road, Mobile, with services following at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
Family visitation in Selma will be 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, at Lawrence Funeral Home, with services following at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma. Radney-Belmany Funeral Home directing in Mobile and Lawrence Funeral Home directing in Selma.
Survivors included her husband, Roy Lee McLaughlin, Jr.; her sons, Daniel (Pam) McLaughlin of Mobile, Roy (June) McLaughlin III and Donald (Leah) McLaughlin of Selma, James (Mary) McLaughlin of Birmingham and a daughter, Miranda (Charles) Dennis of Elizabethton, Tenn.; grandchildren, Michelle McLaughlin, Dr. Jeffrey McLaughlin, Kim McLaughlin, James R. McLaughlin, Jason P. McLaughlin, Charles E. Dennis, Elizabeth Fulcher, Susan Hughes, Oxford McLaughlin and Bain McLaughlin; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Debra Jan Shepard.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born
November 27, 1932, in Brooksville, Ga., to the late Joseph A. and Viola Lain Whaley. She was a longtime resident of Selma, and retired as manager of the Dallas County Abstract Company after 37 years of service.

Andrea &8220;Ann&8221; Snow, 18, of Minter, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Southside High Gymnasium with the Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors parents, Angelee and Essix Watters; include one daughter, Averiana J. Atkins; nine brothers; and seven sisters.
Jane B. Cheatham
Jane B. Cheatham, 76, of Selma, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at a local hospital.
Services are at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Ivy Creek Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Posey and Fred Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Cheatham of Statesville; daughter, Joy (Tim) Willet of Autaugaville; step-son, Parker (Karen) Cheatham of Benton; step-daughters, Denise (Mark) Wilder of Montgomery and Debra (Cody) Wesley of Greenville; two brother, Jeff (Molly) Cheatwood of Southside and W.G. (Helen) Cheatwood of Cedartown, Ga.; sisters, Mary C. Wood of Hokes Bluff; sisters-in-law, Willene Cheatwood of Hokes Bluff and Martha Cheatwood of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren, Ashley Willet and Blake Willet; seven step-grandchildren, Billie Rae, Madeleine and Park Cheatham, Anna Belle and Sarah Grace Wilder, and Whitman and Bella Wesley; special caregivers, Joyce and Norman Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Morgan Cheatwood andW.G. Cheatwood Sr., sisters, Louise Reeves and Betty Bagby and brothers, George Cheatwood and John D. Cheatwood.
Active pallbearers are Asheley Willet, Blake Willet, Whitman Wesley, Park Cheatham, Rusty Wood and Bobby Shackleford.

Family visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Mrs. Cheatham was a devoted mother and wife. She loved her family, church and her community.
Norma Grindle Parrish
Norma &8220;Dot&8221; Grindle Parrish, 81, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, at Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Al Finch and the Rev. James Benefield officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 62 years, Percy E. &8220;Pep&8221; Parrish Sr. of Selma; two sons, Phillip E. (Starr) Parrish of Memphis, Tenn., and Percy E. (Sherry) Parrish of Oneonta; one daughter, Gayle P. (Spike) Williams of Selma; one brother, William E. (Betty) Grindle of Selma; one sister, Laura Hill Bender of Selma; and five special sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Rosemary Grindle, her sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Snooks Wheeler and a grandson, Jeff Williams.
Active pallbearers are Tim Hubbard, Carl Mott, Scott Mitchell, Spike Williams, Allen Frew and Kip Frew.
Honorary pallbearers are Hillard Rush Sunday School Class and The Faith Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Parrish was a member of Elkdale Garden Club, Elkdale W.M.U. and director of West End Baptist Church kindergarten for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse Crawford; one son, Lee Andrew Grayson; one daughter, Jessie Sharpe; one sister, Melinda Grayson; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; two brothers-in-law; six sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

(Alvin) Dunnam of Tuscaloosa and Jerry Ann Morgan of Catherine; brother, Burch (Henrietta) Morgan Jr. of Selma; sister, Flora P. Morgan of Pine Hill; grandchildren, L. Thad B. Rollins Sr., 71, of Texarkana, Ark., formerly of Selma, died Wednesday, April
7, 2004, at a hospital in Texarkana, Ark.
Funeral services were held in Texarkana, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Moss Rollins of Texarkana; two sons, Thad Rollins Jr. of Texarkana and James (Natalie) RolIins of Cumby, Texas; one daughter, Sheila (Danny) Wilson of Portage, Ind.; two brothers, Donald (Mary) Rollins of Selma, and Robert (Marilyn) Rollins of Hebron, Ind.; three sisters, Mamie (Leon) Kirby of Moulton, Jeannette (Ellis) McIntyre and Mary (Kenneth) Edwards of Selma; parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jud (Mamie) Rollins; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Rollins was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Bryson City, N.C. He was a retired pile driver and an Army veteran.
