Miss Sekyra Fikes, 1, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Robert C. Hatch High Gym in Uniontown, with the Rev. A.D. Smith officiating and Sis. Debra Waller presiding, and White Funeral Home of Uniontown directing.
Martha Kendrick Atkins
Martha Kendrick Atkins, of Selma, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004.
Services are at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 13, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. James K. Polk Van Zandt officiating. Burial will follow in Old Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include husband, A.J.M. Atkins of Selma; son, Martin Atkins of San Diego, Calif.; daughters, Caroline Atkins Forster of Rock Hill, S.C. and Adele Atkins Porter of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and one brother, Thomas Ford Kendrick of Seattle, Wash.
Active pallbearers are Victor Atkins, Julien Atkins, Parke Keith, Jack Brown and her four grandsons, Hans, Scott and Ryan Forster and Keith Porter.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
Mrs. Atkins was born Dec. 20, 1927. She attended Selma Public Schools and the University of Alabama, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She was also a member of the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Leola L. Jones
Leola L. Jones, 85, of Dallas County, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at a local hospital.
Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Tootle officiating and Miller Funeral Home directing.
Bessie Louise Johnson Floyd
Bessie Louise Johnson Floyd, 78, of Selma, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, May 13, in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors will be announced later.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 13.
