Shernell Dickerson

Shernell Dickerson, 23, of Birmingham, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Tabernacle of Praise Church in Selma, with the Rev. Stephen Green officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Autaugaville, with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her fiance, Terrell Brown; parents, Horace and Evelyn Dickerson; grandparents, Pearlie M. and Horace Dickerson Sr. and Amelia Broadnax of Autaugaville; one daughter, Myla Shernell Dickerson-Brown; three brothers, Lorenzo (Sonja) Dickerson of Stone Mountain, Ga., Thaylee (Yolanda) Dickerson of Birmingham and Alphonso Dickerson of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Benita Dickerson of Autaugaville and Delphine (John) Brown of Selma; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; three nephews; five nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Willie Charles Campbell

Willie Charles Campbell, 45, of Orrville, died Friday, July 16, 2004, in Selma.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Siloam Baptist Church in Orrville, with the Rev. Albert Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include parents, Dora and Willie Campbell; two brothers, Albert Campbell and A.C. Campbell (Florence); sisters, Dora Campbell, Mamie Campbell, Mary Dester Flennory (Roosevelt); four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

Georgia M. Harris

Georgia M. Harris, 75, of Selma, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at a local nursing home.

Services are 1 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Dr. Frederick D. Reese officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include five brothers, Oscar (Mildred) Barker, Joseph (Betty) Barker, James (Annie Mae) Walker, Jerome (Mary) Barker all of Selma, Ephrom (Brenda) Barker Jr. of Compton, Calif.; sister, Katie (Will) McCullough; special nephew, Frederick Walker; and aunt, Catherine Whitt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Harris, parents, Ephrom Barker Sr. and Ethel Barker and sister, Gulean Rutledge.

Active pallbearers are deacons.

Celie Mae Brown

Celie Mae Brown, 99, of Minter, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at her home.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, July 24, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

Survivors include one son, Willie L. Moorer; one brother, Bennie Marshall; two sisters, Mattie Mae Hunt and Essie Mae Lee; 22 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law and a host of nieces nephews and other relatives

Active pallbearers are great-grandsons.

Clara D. Maull, 61, of White Hall, died Thursday, July 15, 2004.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at First Baptist Church in White Hall, with the Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Grant Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Robert Jackson Kennedy Sr.

Robert Jackson Kennedy Sr., 79, of Selma, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. George Sedberry and the Rev Glenn Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Myrle Kennedy; daughters, Margaret Lucinda “Cindy” Kennedy and Theresa Myrle Kennedy (Michael) Williamson; son, Robert J. Kennedy Jr.; grandsons, Christopher Waldrop, Jordon (Christy) Williamson, Jacob (Jessica) Williamson, Parker Kennedy and Christian Williamson.

Active pallbearers are grandsons.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.

Sylvester McConnell

Sylvester McConnell, of Dallas County, died Saturday, July 17, 2004.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Everdale Baptist Church with Min. Willie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlene; three brothers, Eddie (Lula) McConnell, Mathew (Alice) McConnell and James Holman; two sisters, Juanita Callens and Alice (Eugene) Thomas; five grandchildren; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parent, Robert McConnell and Lucille McConnell and four sisters and five brothers.

Marquis Shields

Marquis Shields, 25, of Dallas County, died Saturday, July 17, 2004.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Beloved Apostolic Church with Elder Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Everdale Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother, Catherine Fulford and father, Zeke Fulford; three brothers, Marvin Sheilds, Zeke Ross and Anthony Webster; four sisters, Roseta Shields, Lucretia Shields, Kimberly Shields and Taneeka Fulford; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; five nieces; five nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Sonja Green, 60, of New York, died Friday, July 16, 2004, in New York.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, July 24, at Marion Baptist Academy with the Rev. Carlton L. Hogue officiating. Burial will follow in Heard Cemetery in Marion, with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy Green; mother, Rosetta Williams; one son, Kelvin Green; one daughter, Syretter Green; four brothers, James Williams, Arthur Neil Williams, Early (Alisha) Williams and Frank (Mildred) Williams; three sisters, Jo Ann Williams, Carolyn and Kathleen Williams.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Williams.
