A ball of confusion

To the editor:
A Ball of Confusion
Everybody is hollowing about what’s best,
From where I sit, things are a mess.
Everything is just a tug of war,
And nothing is getting done by far.
The whole city is crying out,
Trying to tell you what it’s all about.
Jobs are scarce and much too few,
There’s nothing for our people to do.
Something has got to be done, and that’s a must,
Nothing will get done if we all just fuss.
Some of our children are just fighting a war,
They think this is the best way by far.
We got to lay all our guns aside,
Waking each morning and our neighbor has died.
It’s going to take love and lots of it,
Starting now! Bit by bit.
First thing that has to be done,
We got to pull together and come as one.
You might think this is just a buzz,
And my idea may not be as good as yours!
Roll your idea and mine a bit,
We might just make something come of it.
We got to try and make things right,
We can’t solve them all overnight.
It’s no matter what’s your color,
It’s going to take time and lots of struggle.
Some of you won’t like this sound,
It’s going to take the work of the town.
We just can’t sit around and moan,
Some of this action starts at home.
Yes, there will be bumps in the road,
But, we all have to carry the heavy load.
It’s just so much are politicians can do,
I got to do something and so have you!
Lets all join together and hold hands,
And make this a “United We Stand”!
We must wrap our arms around each other,
“March on Selma”, as sons, daughters, sisters, and brothers.
Love to all,
