To the editor:
The purpose of this letter is to commend Chief Robert Green and the SPD for the assistance given to me in recovering some stolen items belonging to a member of my family.
He readily responded to my call for help on Thursday, July 8, 2004.
The details of the incident are not important in penning this letter, however, I’d like to give recognition to the investigating officers and the effective action taken.
They warrant outstanding recognition.
Detective Clint Peeples and Officer Nichols (I failed to get his first name) were instrumental in providing their expertise in solving the crime imposed upon me and my family.
I applaud the efforts taken by Detective Peeples and Officer Nichols.
The professional attitude and skills demonstrated in handling my case was superb.
Without a doubt, I am certain that you, Chief Green, played a major role in developing such an extraordinary degree of professionalism.
I realize that the department is inundated with calls, complaints, crime, etc., far more urgent than mine, but it was truly amazing to witness the efficiency and timely manner in which the officers handled my case.
They pursued the crime wholeheartedly and successfully.
We were fortunate to regain what was stolen.
That is to say, we respectfully and sincerely appreciate the Selma Police Department.
