Dear citizens of Selma, I would like to publicly thank all of you who showed your support on Election Day and allowing me the honor of representing Selma with another term. I consider it a special privilege to serve again as your City Council President. Selma is the best city in the country. We are the best because we have the people, the talent, and resources that make the city a great place in which to live and work.
We live in challenging and changing times. We must move forward to the next level and be more proactive as a cohesive City council. The time is now to pull together-it’s time for leadership with a vision.
We must move quickly and continue to build on the work already begun. As your elected president, I am committed to:
* Not only listening but to hear what you are saying
* Continue to respect your views and input
* Continue to support economic growth and development
* Continue to provide necessary services without overburdening you the tax payer
* Continue to support our senior citizens program
* Promote Selma positively and optimistically
* Enhance the quality of life for residents of our city – youth, seniors, etc.
* Continue to work with the Mayor and Council for a better Selma
This election was special for me. As I campaigned I was pleased to meet many new voters – some first time voters – because they had just turned 18 years old. I salute you for taking this step to be a citizen of Selma and the United States and for having the desire to vote with the belief your vote does count.
I would personally like to acknowledge all of you who exercised your right to vote. I appreciate your interest in our city; it is because of your commitment and hard work that our pathway is that much easier.
I would also like to thank my very special team of volunteers who worked very hard on my behalf during this campaign. Many of these volunteers have been with me through the first election. I really appreciate your continued support. My victory is your victory.
Again, I would like to thank you for allowing me to continue to be your voice at City Hall. You have spoken with your vote. I encourage you to attend the city council meetings and let your voice continue to be heard as part of the communication process as we move through the next four years together.
Thank you for your generous and contributions. Let’s all remember to pray for our city and practice Titus – Chapter 3, which is the foundation for Christian Ethnics.

City Council President
