Two were injured in a late night accident, when a southbound car on the Cecil Jackson Bypass collided with another crossing at the junction on Highway 41.

The impact caused one of the two cars to overturn, temporarily trapping one of the two passengers.

Firefighters, police and rescue personnel arrived at the scene at about 10 p.m.

Battalion Chief Andy Dearman said two of the three passengers were visible immediately.

“One (was) still in the car, and one from the other car (was) walking around,” he said.

The Tuesday night accident resulted in two injuries.

Alan Dailey, Dallas County Coroner and Rescue Squad member, confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening.

“It didn’t appear they had life threatening injuries,” Dailey said.

Alabama State Trooper said he couldn’t offer an official cause of the accident, but said that one of the cars pulled out in front of the other, resulting in a T-bone collision.

Trooper Clifford Bergerson worked the accident. He said both injuries occurred in the same car, the one overturned in the accident.

Officials at the Trooper Post at Craig Field confirmed the number of injuries.

The third individual, whose car caught fire, was uninjured.

Troopers declined to give more information about the accident on Wednesday.
