The new Crime of the Week for this week involves a rape that took place on Sept. 18 in the Beloit area of Dallas County.

According to Roy Freine of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, the alleged rape took place during the early morning hours of Sept. 18 in the 8000 block of Highway 22 West.

Freine said the victim was able to fend off her attacker for a short amount of time, however, due to the suspect’s physical strength, the efforts of the victim were quickly overcome.

“The attacker threw the victim to the ground and forcibly raped her,” Freine said. “The attacker then attempted to rape her a second time.”

The female victim was able to free herself from the attack and ran for help.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department has issued a felony warrant agains Michael Rivers. Rivers is a black male approximately 6’3″ and weighs between 200 and 220 pounds.
