Coach Bill Porter Jr.’s Dallas County Hornets improved their record to 5-5 on the young season with a 73-51 win over Maplesville Monday night at home.
“The whole team scored,” Porter said, “which is good for the guys who work hard in practice.”
Josh Spears led Dallas County with 10. Rafel Miller added 9. Michael Johnson, Eric Ross and Brandon Childers had 8 each for Dallas County. Andrae Nelson had 7; Antonio Perry and Willie Cowan had 6 each. Justin Ledford and Artelious Dixon had three points each.
Dallas County jumped out to a 24-13 lead by the end of the first quarter. A 16-point second quarter led to a 40-22 lead at the break.
The Hornets started the second half on a 9-0 run and led 61-30 after three quarter of play.
Dallas County is in action tonight against Jemison in their first area game.
