William R. Bennett
William R. “Bill” Bennett, died Monday, December 27, 2004.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, at First Baptist Church in Oxford with Dr. Ron Ethridge officiating and Miller Funeral Home of Oxford directing.
Survivors include his wife, Hilma Bennett of Oxford; one daughter, Vickie (Vince) McGucken of Selma; three grandchildren, Ben (Amy) McGucken, Jennifer (Russell) Shore and Amy Elizabeth McGucken; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Patrick and Jack McGucken.
Active pallbearers were Bob O’Neal, Keith O’Neal, Ben McGucken, Harold Mooneyham, Tom Steeber and Don Minton.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Goodwill Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Oxford.
Andrew P. Howe
Andrew P. Howe, 43, died Friday, December 31, 2004.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, at Elkdale Baptist Church. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma with J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home
directing.
I would like to express my sincere and deep appreciation to all that have blessed my family and me through this trying time. I will not even begin to mention names, families, friends, strangers, organizations, churches and businesses that truly, truly brought light into our lives. Most of all I want to thank the One true God, Maker of Heaven and Earth the Lord God Almighty Jesus Christ for peace and comfort that my family and I have been given. He died of ALS
Mr. Howe was born on March 4, 1961.
Jay Allen Williams
Jay Allen Williams, 19, of 2414 Montague Street, Selma, died Dec. 24, 2004, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for Jan. 3, 1 p.m., at the Antioch Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Williams and directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams is survived by his parents, Jackie Williams and Michael People; brother, Michael People Jr.; sister, Janeika Williams; an uncle, Joe (Shirley) Hudson; grandmother, Luria Hudson; aunt, Diann People; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be his family members.
Harry Reese Jr.
Harry Reese Jr., 12, of Selma, died Dec. 30, in Dallas County.
Services are scheduled for Jan. 2, 2 p.m., at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. J. Blunt. Burial will follow in Doc Henry Cemetery, directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Homes.
Harry is survived by his parents, Harry and Betty Reese; three brothers, Anthony (Spring) Reese, Alexandria, Va.; Christopher Reese, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Jeremy Reese, Honolulu; one sister, Catrena Gray, Selma; two nephews, Anthony Reese Jr. and Jeremiah Reese; two nieces, Alana Perry and Aya Grey; nine aunts and 10 uncles.
