Swift Drug downs Johnson Paint and Body

Baseball action at the Sportsplex got underway this season with 11- and 12-year-old play.
Swift Drug 13, Johnson Paint 7
Derrick Walker led Swift Drug at the plate with two hits and five RBI to help beat Johnson Paint and Body 13-7.
On of Walker’s hits was a first inning grand slam.
John Pomeroy also had two hits for Swift.
Jonta Martin, Paul Kirk Jones and Justin Selee had a hit each.
Ja Shombi added a solo homer in the fifth for Swift.
Charles Schoulin had two hits and three RBIs.
Regions Bank 8, Steve Lane 6
Regions Bank used five hits to beat Steve Lane Truck and Auto 8-6 Saturday at the Sportsplex.
Rodney Ellis had two hits followed by Roderick Bean, Tavarius Murray and Tyler Smith with a hit each.
Bean and Ellis had RBIs.
For Steve Lane’s Michael Clark and Raheem Robbins had a hit each.
Clark had an RBI.
Turner Motor 1, Brown Drug 0
Turner Motor only had two hits but managed to beat Brown Drug 1-0 with a run in the top half of the final inning.
Jermarcus Brown and Anthony Thompson had a hit each.
For Brown Drug, James McNeil had a hit.
The Selma Times-Journal 11, Bush Hog 9
The Times-Journal banged out seven hits to down Bush Hog 11-9 Saturday at the Sportsplex.
Shavarius Holeman and J’Vante Furlow had two hits each while Rashad Ellis, Terence Brown and Austin Jordin had a hit each.
Eliss and T. Brown had two RBIs each.
For Bush Hog, Brenton Sanders, Andre Persinger, Logan Campbell and Wesley Williams had a hit each.
