The City of Selma is prepared if Hurricane Dennis comes to town, according to city officials.
Sherri James, administrative assistant to Mayor James Perkins Jr., says officials have been meeting with Emergency Management Agency Director Brett Howard on a daily basis.
James said that police and fire workers will be on duty during the storm and general service and public works will be on the streets as soon as the storm is over.
James added that
as of Saturday city offices will be open on Monday, but obviously if the storm hits hard, that would change.
James
encouraged residents to treat any downed power line as if it is live.
