Last season, the Morgan Senators made the trip to Mobile and left Faith Academy carrying a 15-0 loss back to Selma. This year, the Senators are looking for a little payback.
Robert Gartman, coach of the Senators, has a different feel on his team.
So far this season, the Rams have posted a pair of wins.
They opened their season with a shutout against Escambia and then beat Cottage Hill in week three.
The Rams will be led into Friday night’s game by their backfield combination of Jay Joiner and Jon Mothershed. They are without their quarterback, center and top running back from a year ago.
Joseph Anderson is playing at Troy. Alex Arobu is at West Alabama and according to James, Ray Smith, who played center for the Rams is playing college ball somewhere in Kansas.
Friday night will be bittersweet for James.
On the Senator side of things, Gartman
knows that his kids are going to have their hands full.
The Senators are riding the crest of a two game winning streak following a first week loss to Edgewood Academy. Morgan has beaten Lee-Scott and Glenwood in consecutive weeks.
Friday night’s game is set to start at 7:30 and will be played at Morgan’s Senator Field.
