Mary Ellen Holt

Mary Ellen Holt, age 76, of Selma passed away September 22, 2005 at a local hospital.

The family will accept friends at Mrs. Holt’s residence, Bradley Homes, Apt. 7-D September 27, 2005, from 5-9:00 p.m.

She is survived by one son, Steve (Laura) Lawrence of Selma, AL; two daughters, Donna Forsythe of Orlando, FL and Deborah D’Elia of New Jersey; numerous grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Selma Funeral Home, P. 0. Box 70, Selma, AL 36702 to help with funeral expenses.

Betty Ruth Burton

Betty Ruth Burton, age 60, died Friday, September 23, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2005, at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Rochester officiating.

Mrs. Burton is survived by her husband, Alvis D. Burton; son, Alvis Earl Burton; daughter, Michelle Dennis; father, Cecil O. Campbell; two grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Family visitation will be Sunday, September 25, 2005 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carrie Carter

Carrie Carter, 84, of Demopolis, Alabama, passed Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at a Demopolis hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Miller’s Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama, with the Rev. Willie Vines officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements.

George Young Jr.

George Young Jr., age 49, of Fort Deposit, Alabama, died Friday, September 23, 2005.

Funeral services and survivors will be announced by Bell Funeral Home.

Frances Adell Dunkin Hale

Frances Adell Dunkin Hale, age 76, born February 4, 1929 passed away Friday September 23, 2005 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 26, 2005 in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home officiated by Rev Lee Tate.

Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery, Perryville, AL.

She has ten surviving children, Linda Diane Nix of Concord, GA; Patricia Ann Gilchrist of Birmingham, Sandra Lea McClendon of Selma, Curtis Floyd Gibbs of Concord, GA; Debbie Carol McClure, Buchanan, GA; Donnie Albert Dunkin of Florida; Ronnie Allen Dunkin of Florida, Jerry Glenn Hale of Selma, James Timothy Hale of Selma, Robin Dale Hale of Selma, 25 grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Stanley Hale.

Pallbearers will be Avite Lindeen, Jonathon McClendon, Jacob Gore, Andy Sheffield, Britt Nix, and Jamie Aultman.

Alternate pallbearers are Jeffrey Gibbs, Eugene Johnson, and Jamie Nix.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, September 25, 2005.
