Very few times does a pastor get to parlay their love of sports into their ministry.
Jack Lovelace seems to have found a way. On March 11, Lovelace and a group from the First Baptist Church of Selma will be conducting a baseball clinic at the Selma Sportsplex.
Sign-ups for the event has concluded and according to Lovelace, the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of baseball along with an evangelical message was well received.
The children, aged 7-years-to-12-years, that have signed up to participate in the event will receive t-shirts as well as instruction from baseball coaches and former college baseball players that reside in Selma. Four Seams will also be involved.
After lunch, the participants will have the opportunity to hear an inspirational message from a community leader.
Lovelace and First Baptist extend special thanks to him and to the community for supporting this event.
