Selma boys and girls post track wins

The Selma High track team posted victories in both girls’ and boy’s events Thursday night at Memorial Stadium.
The boy’s team scored 139 points, 51 of them coming from the field events.
In the shot put, Tobias Wilson placed first, Bryan Johnson placed fourth and Terrance Green placed sixth.
Clarence Walker took first in the discus, and Johnson came in third.
Adrean Dukes won both the long jump and high jump events.
Chris Howard, Ernest Wright, Horace Brown and Moses Webb got the Saints a victory in the 4×800 meter relay.
Myers Hawkins took first-place in the 100-meter and 200-meter races.
Howard won both the 1,600 and 800 races.
Brown took first in the 400-meter dash.
In the 4×400 meter relay, Frank Chestnut, Victor Floyd, Brown and Webb gave Selma a second-place finish.
The Selma girls posted 128 points to take a win in the meet.
Ashley Grimes took first in the 100-meter dash, followed by Kemesha Strong in second.
Grimes and Lateasha Witherspoon placed first and second, respectively, in the 200-meter race.
Grimes, Strong, Tangel Lee and Witherspoon teamed up to give the Lady Saints a win in the 4×100 meter relay.
Strong and Grimes took the first two spots in the 400 meters.
In the long jump, Grimes took first, and Witherspoon took second.
Lee won the high jump, and Grimes took second-place in the event.
