Jeffrey Edison McCurdy
Jeffrey Edison McCurdy, age 42, of Lowndesboro passed away on Saturday, August 26. He graduated from Lowndes Academy in 1982 and operated his family’s farm in Lowndesboro where he was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his mother, Hazel Gilmore McCurdy of Lowndesboro and predeceased by his father, Edward Seller McCurdy.
Jeff will always be admired and respected by his three surviving brothers, Edward S. McCurdy, Jr. (Kim) of Selma, Keith G. McCurdy (Lynne) of Eclectic, and Reese L. McCurdy (Julie) of Charlotte, North Caroline. He is also survived by his nephew, Sellars McCurdy and his nieces, Sarah Peyton McCurdy, Miranda McCurdy, Kaitlyn McCurdy, and Mary Kendall McCurdy. Other relatives include aunts, uncles, and cousins in both his McCurdy and Gilmore families.
Jeff celebrated life through his devotion to all the members of his family and his community. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He was a favorite uncle to his nephew and nieces who share their family’s admiration for Jeff’s integrity, his strong work ethic, and his sense of humor that brought happiness to everyone who knew him.
The family will receive visitors at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lowndesboro on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal, Lowndesboro, or the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Eloise Woodson Kane
Mrs. Eloise Woodson Kane, age 91, of Demopolis died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Chapel with Dr. Rex Kent officiating.
Interment will follow at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 1;00 P.M. until service time.
