Earl Trainham, Jr.

Major Kenneth Earl Trainham, Jr. U. S. Army, retired, passed away Friday, September 8, 2006 in a Ft. Worth hospital. He was 68 years old.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Staggs Prairie Cemetery, Dr. Steve Buckland will officiate and Ft. Hood Army personnel and American Legion Post 72 will provide military honors.

Maj. Trainham was born June 4, 1938 in Selma, Alabama, the son of Kenneth Earl Trainham, Sr. and Bessie Avis Strickland Cardwell.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and was an army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He lived in Mineral Wells from 1975 until 2004 and was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Trainham of Mineral Wells, son and daughter-in-law, Val and Susan Trainham of Lingleville; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Kelly Peel of Peaster; grandchildren, Courtney Bohner of Ft. Worth, Lindsey Bohner of Lingleville; Megan Trainham of Mineral Wells, Taylor and Regan Peel of Peaster; 2 nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family requests donations be made to the American Legion Boy Scout Fund, P.O.Box 1101, Mineral Wells, TX 76068, the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or M.D. Anderson for Cancer Research.
