Mr. Durrah Nelson Cooke

Mr. Durrah Nelson Cooke, age 76, of Selma, AL died on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Park Place Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Marion Cemetery.

The Rev. Jerry Smith officiated.

The family received friends from 10:30-11:15 at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel before the graveside service.

Survivors include: sister, Christine Poe of Birmingham, AL; brothers, Dixon Cooke of North Augusta, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Durrah Nelson Cooke was born on August 24, 1930 in Perry County, Alabama.

His parents were Wilbur Allen Cooke and Pearl Clinton Cooke who preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ordwell Cooke, Orlean Cooke, Cecil Cooke and Lawrence Cooke; and sisters, Mary C. Ivery, Thelma C. White and Myrtle C. Barrett.
