Corneilus Hatcher
Corneilus Hatcher, age 27, of Orrville, Ala., died on April 11, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2007, at 12:30 pm at John Baptist Church with Rev. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Fulton Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.
Survivors include his caretakers: Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Dragg and Family.
Leedell Jones
Leedell Jones, age 74, of Marion, Ala., died on April 12, 2007, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service.
O. Paul Walker
O. Paul Walker, a resident of Monroeville, Ala., passed away on Friday April 13, 2007. Memorial services, officiated by Father Robert Nichols, will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16 at Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Monroeville.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
The Rev. Walker was a minister at Meadowview Christian Church in Selma for 29 years and one of the founders of Meadowview Christian School.
During his ministry, he served for many years as chaplain of the Selma City Council.
Walker is survived by his wife, Ann M. Walker; daughters Leigh Ann (Mike) Parmer, Monroeville, and Laura (Walt) Young, Hayneville; granddaughters Holley Ann Young, Elizabeth Young Snider and Amber Parmer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meadowview Christian School, 1512 Old Orrville Road, Selma, AL 36701.
Harlan Dean Trotter
Harlan Dean Trotter, 51, of Plantersville, passed away Friday in a Selma hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2007, at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Golson and the Rev. Lewis Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at Plantersville Baptist Church on Sunday, April 28, 2007, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Plantersville Baptist Church Media Fund.
Pallbearers include Johnny Trotter, B.J. Young, Charles Trotter, Duck Trotter, Benjamin Daniell, Daryl Payne, Chris Edwards and Danny Daniell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of Plantersville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Treba Daniell Trotter; sons, Jeremy Trotter and Josh (Jennifer) Trotter, all of Plantersville; mother, Cora Nichols Trotter of Centre; brothers, Billy (June) Trotter, Charles (Mary) Trotter and Tommy (Paula) Trotter, all of Piedmont and Robert (JoAnn) Trotter of Blance; sisters, Myrtelle (Robert) Watson of Centre and Annie B. Trotter of Centre; two grandchildren, Kendal Greene and Dale Wilmet, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Trotter.
Trotter was a native of Calhoun County, was a foreman at Bushhog of Selma, was assistant fire chief of Plantersville Volunteer Fire Department and was a member and deacon of Plantersville Baptist Church.
