‘Talent Search for the Stars:’ Auditions held today

Calling students and adults of all ages.
An audition for “Talent Search for the Stars” will be held today at 5 p.m. at J.A. Pickard Auditorium.
“We have quite a few signed up,” organizer Leonard King said.
Contestants will be selected from those auditioning. The talent categories are singing, dancing, music, fashion and drama.
The event is an extension of the Selma and Dallas County Summer enrichment Program.
The participants will produce a CD and a DVD at the Selma-Dallas County Summer Enrichment Day Camp at Mount Zion New Jerusulem Church, located at 1009 Lauderdale St.
The day camp will last June 4 to July 6.
“They will record original music for a play called ‘Can’t See the Forest for the Trees,'” King said.
The money will go back into the program.
Performances will be open to the public on Saturday, May 26.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded.
Admission is $3 for children, $5 for students and $10 for adults.
King said any person who brings a diploma or degree will be admitted at a reduced price.
Underage children should be accompanied by an adult.
The project is a collaboration among Musical POSC, Selma West Village Church of the Nazarene and Mt. Zion New Jerusalem.
