The Selma Police Department made two drug busts within hours of each other Saturday, one for marijuana and one for crack cocaine.
Taurus Crawford was pulled over Saturday at the intersection of L.L. Anderson and St. Phillips Sts. on a routine stop for not wearing a safety belt.
According to Det. Jeff Hardy, Crawford then began to act suspiciously.
According to Hardy, Crawford then admitted to having a substance and pulled a plastic bag out of his pocket containing approximately ten rocks of crack cocaine. The rocks were valued at $400.
Crawford is being held on $2,500 bond at the county jail. He did not have any previous offenses.
Roderick Smith was arrested Saturday after he refused to pull over for a routine traffic stop and tried to elude police for two blocks, throwing marijuana out along the way, according to officials.
Hardy retrieved the marijuana at the corner of Shannon St. and Kenny Keith made the arrest.
