When a lone gunman entered the Conoco gas station Wednesday night at Highland Avenue and Broad Street and
ordered everyone to get down on the floor, nobody moved.
That’s when store owner Sunny Sidhom, who was stocking the cooler at 11:20 p.m., said he got nervous. &8220;You could not tell if he was going to shoot,&8221; he said.
He was right to wonder what the robber would do. Over a year ago a clerk handed a robber cash and was shot.
Sidhom came out of the cooler as the gunman fled, and gave chase. He said customers left the store too, in a hurry.
Sidhom, who operated as usual Thanksgiving morning, said he did not know what to do.
The business will remain open, he said.
The gunman escaped with an undetermined amount of cash. Sidhom said he did not know how much was taken.
