Saints blow out Lions

Selma took down area rival Prattville 70-49 at home Friday night.

Guard Jakobe Shannon led the Saints with 19 points, Tedrick Owens scored 11 and Wendell Young scored nine.

Allister Stinson led the Lions with 13 points.

In girls action, Keisha Moore had 13 points and eight rebounds to lead Selma to a 48-24 win.

Center Richelle Jones had 10 points and seven rebounds, and both Lateasha Witherspoon and Ashley Grimes had nine.

The Saints barely held a lead after a low-scoring first half, taking a 16-15 advantage into the locker room. They outscored the Lions 19-4 in the third quarter.

Erica Bowen, Tiffany Wright and Mona Knox all scored six points for Prattville to lead the team.
