TONIGHT THROUGH 8 PM SATURDAY EVENING FOR A LARGE PART OF CENTRAL

ALABAMA.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE COUNTIES SERVED BY THE

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN BIRMINGHAM.

.DAY ONE…TONIGHT.

A FEW SPRINKLES ARE POSSIBLE AFTER 10 PM ACROSS WESTERN ALABAMA BUT

WILL QUICKLY TRANSITION TO LIGHT SNOW AFTER 3 AM. THE SNOW WILL THEN

SPREAD WEST TO EAST ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA BY SUNRISE. UP TO ONE INCH

OF ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE BEFORE DAWN ACROSS PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL

ALABAMA WEST OF INTERSTATE 65. DRIVERS ARE URGED TO EXERCISE CAUTION

LATE TONIGHT.

WINTRY PRECIPITATION…PREDOMINATELY SNOW…IS EXPECTED TO FALL

ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA ON SATURDAY LASTING INTO THE EARLY EVENING

HOURS. A LARGE PART OF CENTRAL ALABAMA WILL RECEIVE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF

SNOW…WITH THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES FROM SELMA AND

CLANTON…TO TUSKEGEE AND ALEXANDER CITY…TO ROANOKE AND OPELIKA.

AMOUNTS LESS THAN 1 INCH ARE POSSIBLE IN PLACES SUCH AS TROY

AND EUFAULA WHILE AREAS IN THE NORTHWEST WILL SEE ONLY A DUSTING.

ALTHOUGH SURFACE TEMPERATURES WILL HOVER JUST ABOVE FREEZING DURING

MUCH OF THE EVENT…HEAVY SNOWFALL IS POSSIBLE AT TIMES ACROSS
