Staff report
The Selma School District had to recruit some teachers and coaches Friday to drive buses because some drivers staged a sickout.
Crystal Boykin, a spokeswoman for the school, said children didn’t miss rides to school.
Edgewood Elementary School students could not go to Montgomery on a field trip to the zoo.
Byrd Elementary School students walked to Bloch Park, instead of riding the bus, Boykin said.
Interim Superintendent Verdell Lett-Dawson declined to talk about the missing drivers, saying the matter is being handled internally.
