Charles Harmon Chapman
Charles Harmon Chapman, Lawley, AL passed away Monday morning May 19, 2008 at Bibb Medical Center after an extended illness.
He is survived by his children, Brenda & Bill Cox of Jacksonville, FL, Charles & Tina Chapman of Lakeview, AL Kathy Willard of Hueytown, AL, step children Rhonda Pierce of Lawley, AL and Lisa Bailey of Brent, AL; siblings, Thomas & Ouida Chapman of Bessemer, Dot & Dan McGee of Lawley, and Frances Chapman of McCalla. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren who will share cherished memories of Paw-Paw. He is also survived by a dear friend Norma Moore and Opal Jean Cash Chapman, the mother of his children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Wells Chapman, parents JC & Buna Chapman and brother Horace Chapman.
Pallbearers are his grandchildren, Brandon Evans, Chad Willard, Chris Smith, Josh Segars, Matthew Ware, Johnny Dunkin and Justin Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Joseph Chapman and Alex Smith.
Charles Chapman retired after a long career with International Paper Corp in Riverdale, AL.
Visitation will be Tuesday night, May 20, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rocko Funeral Home in Centreville, AL.
Funeral services will be at Lawley Freewill Baptist Church in Lawley, AL Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with burial in adjoining cemetery.
Charles W. Reedy
Charles W. Reedy, age 72, a life-long resident of Selma died Monday, May 19, 2008 after a brief but intense illness.
He was educated in the Dallas County and Selma City Schools. He worked in the auto parts business since he was a teenager. Charles loved his family dearly also all of God&8217;s creatures. He was an avid bird watcher, a love he learned from his grandmother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Zelle K. Reedy, his son, Chuck (Barbie) Reedy, two daughters, Pamela K. Reedy (David) Nielson, and Catherine Ami Reedy (Steve) Conley. He has four granddaughters; Jennie Reedy, Jessie Reedy, Amanda Clark, and Laura Coale, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Cleo Conn, Ron Blackmon, Mike Armistead, Paul Armistead, Bobby Spears, Phillip Worrell, Walter Seekers, and Andy Armistead. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ike Armistead, and members of the Selma Elks Lodge #167.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morris U. Reedy Sr., mother, Betty Stoudenmire Reedy, brother, Morris U. Reedy Jr., and sister, Margaret Ann Reedy.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 22, 2008 in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Micah Gandy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M.

Hattie King
Hattie King, 81, a resident of Selma passed May 20, 2008 at the Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
Final arrangements will be announced at a later date by J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.
Iona Cromer Averette
Iona Cromer Averette, 82, of Marion, AL died May 19, 2008 at DCH.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday May 22, 2008 at Waycross Bible Methodist Church with Reverends Edwin Williams and Charles Spence officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel.
Lillie Mae Green
Lillie Mae Green, 42, of Selma, AL died May 13, 2008 at Vaughan Regional.
Services are scheduled for Wed. May 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Miller&8217;s Chapel officiated by Rev.
A. Bryant. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.
Survivors include five sons, Rodriguez Green, Kendrick Green, Charles Green, Christopher Green, and Emmit Green; one daughter, Cassandra Green of Selma, AL; two brothers, Louis (Dondra) Green and David Green; four sisters, Diane (William) Laister, Bianca Dunbar, Juanita Green, and Victoria Green; five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will include family & friends.
Marie Alexander Boyd
Marie Alexander Boyd, 82, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband Master Sergeant Billy C. Boyd, and two brothers Henry and Sonny Alexander.
She is survived by two sons, Chester E.&8220;Buster&8221; Lawless of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Don (Sherry) Lawless of Yukon, Oklahoma; a sister, Virginia &8220;Tootsie&8221; Engerath of Attica, Indiana; three grandchildren, Donnie (Jamie) Lawless, Lori (Steve) Fischer, Michael Lawless; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, Emma, and Clifton; a brother in law William F. &8220;Skeet&8221; (Mary) Boyd; sisters-in-law, Frances Anderson of Grandview, Texas; Dorothy Nix of Covington, Texas; and Emma Lou Conner of Baton Rouge, La. Other family members include:
Ann Raine (William) Hughes and family; and Rosaline Raine and family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A former resident of Selma, Mrs. Boyd and her husband were members of Elkdale Baptist Church.
She was previously employed by First Alabama Bank following a Civil Service career at Craig Air Force Base where she retired after many years of service.
Visitation will be at Lawrence Brown Funeral Home Thursday, May 22 from 1:00-2:30 P.M. Services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Pineview Memory Gardens. Officiated by Rev. Micah Gandy and directed by Lawrence-Brown Funeral Home.

Mr. Anthony D. Richardson, 34, of Selma, AL died May 19, 2008 at his residence.
