Graveside services and burial for Doris Barton Duke, 80, of Decatur will be Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 2pm in the New Live Oak Cemetery, Selma, AL.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Mrs. Duke, who died Friday, July 25, 2008 at her residence, was born July 27, 1927, in Selma to Solomon and Regina Barton. She was a homemaker. She will be remembered for her faith in God, love of her family, sunny disposition, keen intellect, enjoyment of flowers, and her ability to encourage others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Twigg Duke, Jr., and sister Betty Faye Barton.
Survivors include one son, David Duke and his wife Karen; three daughters, Susan Chenault and her husband Marty, Jeanne Payne and her husband, Gary, Emily Payton and her husband Wally; one sister Evelyn Weisfeld, one brother, Albert Barton, one sister-in-law Dot McCain; six grandchildren, Audrey Laird, Ashley Duke, Sarah Chenault, Adam Payne, Blake Payne, Trent Payton; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Laird and Foster Laird.
