A garbage truck crashed into a ravine on North Lake Drive off County Road 81 in Valley Grande earlier this morning. Authorities with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and the Alabama State Highway Patrol are working the accident scene, according to Dallas County Chief Deputy Randy Pugh. One person was killed in the accident. Public safety reporter Katie Nichols is on the scene and will have a report later in the day and for the print edition.
