Mrs. Carrie Lou Sheffield Houser, born on March 29, 1924, took her last breath of life on May 11, 2009 in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Mrs. Houser was preceded in death by her late husband, Britt M. Houser, Sr., her eldest grandson, Errol Brown, and her parents, Uriah Sheffield and Mary Rush.
She was blessed with five children: Carolyn (James) Ford, Marie (Arthur) Brown, and Reginald (Cynthia) Houser of Selma, Alabama; and Britt (Lorraine) Houser, Jr. and Melba (Donald) Curry of Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Mrs. Houser leaves to cherish her memories two brothers, Rev. Hiawatha Sheffield of Birmingham, Alabama and Dock Woodward of Chicago, Illinois, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 9 sisters-in-law, a devoted daughter-in-law, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 1:00pm at The Potter Place, Town Creek Ministry, 3000 Montgomery Highway, Selma, Alabama.
