James Seale, III

GREENSBORO. James Hezekiah Seale, III, age 52, of Greensboro, Alabama, died June 21, 2009. Mr. Seale was born October 12, 1956, in Montgomery to Mr. and Mrs. James Hezekiah Seale, Jr. (Sue Cole Waller).
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Gayle Langham Seale; his son, James Hezekiah Seale, IV; and his daughter, Lindsey Brooke Seale.
Mr. Seale was a 1975 graduate of Southern Academy in Greensboro and continued his education at the University of Alabama, receiving his B.S. degree in 1979. He remained at the University and received his Juris Doctorate in 1982. During his time at the University, he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Mr. Seale was a member of the Alabama State Bar licensed to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals 11th Circuit; U.S. District Court for Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts; and the U.S. Supreme Court. He was the founding partner of Seale, Holmes, &Ryan, LLC. Mr. Seale was also a member of the American Bar Association, Alabama Law Institute, the American Association for Justice, where he served on the Executive Committee. Jimmy was a contributor to the University of Alabama School of Law Building of Excellence Campaign. The James H. Seale, III office was named in his honor at the University of Alabama School of Law. Jimmy was a longtime member of Ducks Unlimited, serving as District Chairman and Chairman of the Greensboro Chapter for over 20 years. He served on the Executive Committee of the Boy Scouts, an organization with which he was affiliated throughout his life, and received his Eagle Scout at the age of 13. He was also a member of the Rotary Club.
Mr. Seale was an avid hunter and farmer, and was named Hale County Farm City 1997 Businessman of the Year. He loved deep-sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Jimmy was an avid golfer, winning his first Lakeview Country Club Championship at the age of 16. The family asks that friends join them Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at 4 p.m. around the Seale Family Lot in the Oakwood Cemetery for a memorial service. The Reverend Steve Vernon will officiate with Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
