Bases Loaded ready for series

A softball team with three Selma players will represent Alabama on Sept. 18-19 in the National Softball Association’s E World Series in Nashville, Tenn.
The team, Bases Loaded, earned the right to represent the state Aug. 1-2 in the E State softball tournament. Chris Ingram of Selma said 10-15 different states will be represented.
“We played a total of seven games n the state tournament,” Ingram said. “We ended the tournament with a 6-1 record and finishing first.”
Bases Loaded won the first five games (beating DD Reloaded 18-6, Team 3:16 7-3, Big Sticks 16-13, J.R. Smith 16-5 and C.L.I. 13-9) before losing 12-2 to WSC/Car-Lot 12-2. Bases Loaded returned the favor in the championship game with a 25-18 victory.
“Our team has players from all over the state.” Ingram said. “From Selma there are me, Bucky Barrett and David Day. From Prattville there is Daryl Stovall and Jason Adair. From Tuscaloosa is tournament MVP Shawn Calhoun. From Athens is John Hendon. From Pinson are Kevan Wynn, Jeremiah Srofe, Jeremy Galbreath, Shane Payton and Harry Miller.”
The team is sponsored by Jamie Bostic of Bostic Roofing, Mark Woodson and KFC, Dr. George Woods at Selma Animal Hospital and Eric Mason from Mason Embroidery.
