Thurston Nichols

Thurston Eugene Nichols, age 74, died Saturday December 12, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his wife Willodean McCullough Nichols and his daughter, Dr. Sheila Dare.
He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Ray (David), of Jones, Dana Nichols of Chico, CA; granddaughter, Renee Dobbins (Shane) of Jones, son-in-law, Charlie Dare of Northport, AL and two great-grandchildren, Webb Dobbins and Josh Dobbins; brothers, Kenneth Nichols (Mildred) of Montgomery and Willie Nichols (Luverne) of Jackson, AL.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday December 15, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverends Rod Rochester, Wayne Kraft and Art Heartley officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday night at the funeral home.
Mr. Nichols was the owner of Maplesville Supermarket for many years.
