John Wayne Friday, 61, of Marion, AL, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at his home. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 2:00pm at Marion United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Chad Middlebrooks. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery, Selma, AL, under the direction of Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Perdue Friday of Marion; daughter, Lea Friday Dettmar of Millbrook; sons, John Ryan Friday (Danyalle) of Montgomery, Benjamin Wayne Friday (Sarah) of Marion; and James Smith of Marion; sisters, Ruth Ann Fisher of Auburn, and Earlene Wiggins of Foley; brothers, Claude Friday of Talladega, Leo Friday of Foley, Ralph Friday of Selma, and Fred Friday of Selma; five grandchildren, Nicholas Friday, Alex Dettmar, Micah Dettmar, Christian Friday, and Maverick Friday; one great grandchild, Alaina Dettmar.
Pallbearers will be Dave Davis, Wayne Walker, Judd Griffin, Gene McCauley, Mark Thurber, Henry Morrison, Frank Harrison, Jr., and Robert Hoggle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Middlebrooks, Thomas Coleman, Rob Dettmar, Grandsons, Brothers, and Warren Swanson.Mr. Friday was preceded in death by his parents, W. C. Friday and Lillie Carter Friday, his sister, Dorothy Friday and his brother, James Friday.
